Introduction
My name is Yvonne Bates, and I am in the Master's Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Fall 2010 and will graduate Summer 2012. I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2000 with a BacheIor's degree in education. Immediately after graduation, I began teaching elementary school. I currently teach second grade students at Teasley Elementary School in Cobb County. Having attended KSU for my undergraduate experience, and knowing KSU's reputation in instructional technology, led me to the Master's Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. My ultimate goal is to be a technology leader at my school so I can ensure that the students and faculty are taking full advantage of the technology that is available to us for a higher level of learning engagement.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards. As you can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the important work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and feel that I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them.
