6.2 Reflection
Candidates regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences.
Artifact: End of First Semester Blog Reflection
Reflection:
One of the ongoing assignments we had for our courses was to create and post to a blog. We posted regarding information about specific assignments, recorded field experience, and just reflected as needed on certain experiences. I thought our blog was a really great technology tool to use to report and gather feedback throughout our grad school time. Unfortunately, after a while, our blogs were not required anymore so the posts were few and far between. I continued to post a few times for my own personal gain. It helped me to connect with what was happening at the time and I am so happy to have all of this information in one place where I can go back and revisit some of the activities I have completed along the way.
This blog post is of a reflection I made after completing my first semester in the Instructional Technology master’s program. I was so excited about what I was learning and the awesome professor who had helped me through that first semester. This artifact demonstrates mastery of Standard 6.2 because I regularly evaluated and reflected on my professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen my ability to effectively model and facilitate technology-enhanced learning experiences.
The thing that I would change about my blog is that I would have continued to post even when it was not required anymore. I hate that it has holes in time where I did not post about classes or experiences. I think the blog is a wonderful artifact of my grad school program and I wish it was a more complete picture of everything involved.
The impact of this blog reflection and my blog, as a whole, is that it has allowed me to remember and revisit the feelings I had at certain times during the program. It has also been a treasure box in which I have kept some of the jewels that I have created along the way that I plan to use for inspiration for my fellow teachers and students. I am sure I will continue to refer back to my Back to School for Mrs. Bates blog in the future.
