1.1 Shared Vision
Candidates facilitate the development and implementation of a shared vision for the use of technology in teaching, learning, and leadership.
Artifact: Vision Paper
Reflection:
The Vision Paper was created at the very beginning of my technology courses in ITEC 7410. It was for the purpose of looking at our school and what technology goals we would like to see taking place, determining where we presently are in our goal of incorporating technology, and finally deciding the steps that would be necessary to make that vision a reality.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of Standard 1.1 because I facilitated the development and implementation of a shared vision for the use of technology in teaching, learning, and leadership. The Vision Paper was the start of the project that led to developing a plan that our school could follow so that the vision could be achieved if the principal and school wanted to embrace the goals and make it a reality.
Though this paper I was able to determine what I thought were important goals in the incorporation of technology at our school. It allowed me time to self-reflect and evaluate my classroom to see if I was actually putting these actions in place for my students. The work that went into this artifact helped ultimately set the foundation for my Capstone and allowed me the opportunity to work more closely with a handful of teachers to try to make this vision a reality in some classrooms, if not the whole school. I believe that in order to make this the vision for the school more of the teachers and staff have to believe in the vision and support the learning to make it so. The impact to be assessed would be seen in how teachers were using the technology within their classrooms with the students. This could be monitored by teachers, administrators, and students with feedback from each group to say if the learning environment had changed or not based on technology incorporated.
